As an "artgineer," my playful objets d'art are inspired by extensive research into science and humanities. Each intricate piece layers classical artistic techniques such as engraving, illustration, and woodworking with modern fabrication using a laser engraver. Curious minds are encouraged to explore, observe, play with the pieces, solve puzzles, and form a new experience with timeless themes. My evolution from set designer to artgineer zig-zaggs with the people and experiences I have encountered in life. I learned to accept the invitation to join strangers in work and worship, bring my best food to the Saturday night post-show potluck, take the wrong bus and follow the nuns, ask to see the workshop where the violins are made, and above all, get off the highway and detour for a truly good cup of coffee in a small town so charming it likely disappears at the stroke of midnight. Exploration and discovery inspire what I create to encourage the curious mind. I currently work full time in my 260 square foot studio located in Denver, Colorado. When I travel to art markets and renaissance festivals throughout the United States, you can find my work as The Owl and The Hourglass. As time allows, I also work with businesses and individuals in need of smaller scale prototyping, engraving, and design services.
