Coptic stitch-bound books, as a style, date back to the earliest Western binding, circa the 6th century. ACE. This type of binding is loved by artists, left-handed people, and those who enjoy keeping a journal because it allows the book to stay open flat.
Using wood book boards allows me to create a durable book where the materials will always make each piece distinct. While there is a risk of the book cover cracking, it can be repaired by drilling small holes on either side of the crack, gluing, and sewing across the crack. I offer book board repair for a nominal fee.
If you would like the book's contents cut out, bundled, and new signatures sewn into the existing book boards, don't hesitate to contact me. I’m happy to provide a quote for custom work!
